Estates and gates

Centurion Golf Estate, Irene Estate and Southdowns Estate are among its secure residential estates. Estates usually have a guard at the gate, so a clean needs a little organising first.

When you request the quote, give us:

• the estate name and your street or unit number
• whether visitors must be registered at the gate, and who does it
• what the estate's service-provider procedure is
• where we can park, and whether there is a lift or a long walk

If your estate or complex has visiting hours for service providers, tell us. We fit the time around them, and temporary access gets arranged after booking.

Storm afternoons

Centurion has a Highveld climate with dry, sunny winters and warm to hot summers from October to April. Afternoon storms are common in summer.

Storm season matters for one reason: a carpet that is still drying when the afternoon rain comes in has less help from outside air. Trade guides put the usual drying time at 6 to 12 hours, so a clean that begins late in the day runs into the evening.

Practical points for a summer booking:

• Ask us for an early slot, so most of the drying falls in daylight.
• Close windows when the storm arrives and use a fan instead.
• If rain gets in, tell us. Anything still wet a day later needs a call the same day.

Townhouses, lifestyle complexes and older houses

Centurion homes vary from newer estate houses to older houses on larger stands in the established suburbs. We ask two questions on the phone: how many rooms are carpeted, and whether any carpet runs up a staircase. Those two answers shape the price more than the suburb does.
